You can use this form to

Apply for an asset protection permit for building works within Boroondara (one permit per building site). Allow 10 days for your permit to be processed.

You must have the permit and understand the conditions before starting works.

Who can use this form
- property owners in Boroondara
- applicants nominated by the owner
To complete this form, include

- the type, value and timing of building works
- supporting documents (for example, asset condition report)
Fees

Permit fee: $322, $481 or $805 depending on the type of works.

Credit card surcharge:
- 1.14% – Visa or Mastercard credit card.
- 0.88% – American Express credit card.
There is no surcharge for Visa or Mastercard debit cards.

There is no fee for PayPal transactions.

Once you've submitted this form, we will
- Send you an email and optional SMS confirming your application.
- Inspect Council assets around your site to determine the bond amount.
- Send you an invoice with the full bond amount.
- Issue your permit once the bond has been paid.
What happens with your information?

We record your information on our customer database and make it available to relevant Council staff in line with City of Boroondara’s Privacy Statement.

The contact details you provide to Council may be used by Council to contact you in relation to other Council functions and services.

The bond will be a minimum of $3000. We will confirm the amount once we have inspected the Council assets around your site.

Supporting documentation
We strongly recommend taking photos of all Councils assets around your site for your own records. This includes the naturestrip, gutter, footpath, driveway and street trees. You'll have to pay for any damage you cause.

You can upload photos or a report of the existing condition of Council assets around your site, including a Construction Management Plan (if applicable).
